Throughout YLC’s 45th year, we’ve been collecting pieces of art, inspiring quotes and self-portraits from our community. Starting with a workshop at our 45th Anniversary celebration in April, we asked, “What does literacy mean to you?”
You delivered! We gathered over 150 entries telling us how important literacy is to you and the impact it’s had on your life.
We took those artistic expressions of literacy and created something SPECIAL to commemorate our 45 years of community literacy! At our AGM, we presented the Yamaska Literacy Council Mosaic Portrait! Since 1981: Literacy. More than Words.
Visit our Cowansville or Waterloo office to get a closer look at it! Thank you to Nathalie Hazan of Raison d’Art for the artwork and thank you to all for participating and sharing in our 45-year journey!
