Shakespeare 102 – Harry the King

Shakespeare with CrownYou are invited!

So brush off your best crown, and get ready for Shakespeare! The Yamaska Literacy Council is throwing a party for William Shakespeare on Saturday, June 28th at the Ville de Lac Brome Community Centre from 7 to 9 pm!

This being the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth, there will be cake, spiced cider and a contest for the best crown! Come out for an evening of FREE fun for the family!

Philip Lanthier will guide us through the intrigues of Henry IV and Henry V; Danny McAuley and his thespian friends will perform excerpts from the play; and a Band of Singers will delight with Elizabethan madrigals.

There is no admission charge; however, there will be a free-will offering. All proceeds will go to Knowlton Academy’s school supply fund. Back by popular demand, YLC and friends are presenting this free event as a tickle-up to this summer’s not-to-be missed, Shakespeare on the Beach.

The Knowlton Literary Festival (www.knowltonliteraryfestival.ca) is sponsoring the Repercussion Theatre’s Harry the King: the Famous Victories of Henry V on Saturday July 19th at 7:30 p.m. at Douglass Beach in Lac-Brome.
